Väzba There is / There are v angličtine

Jednou z prvých vecí, ktoré sa naučís po anglicky, je väzba “there is” a “there are”. Je to jednoduchý spôsob, ako povedať, že niečo niekde je alebo existuje.

Otáyky vytvoríme prehodením slovosledu

❌ Tvorba záporu

V zápore pridáme not za there is alebo there are. Častejšie sa však používa skrátený tvar.

There isn’t (= there is not)

→ There isn’t any milk in the fridge. (V chladničke nie je žiadne mlieko.)

There aren’t (= there are not)

→ There aren’t any chairs in the room. (V miestnosti nie sú žiadne stoličky.)

⚠️ Pozor na doslovný preklad

V slovenčine bežne povieme:
„V spálni je posteľ.“
No ak by sme to doslovne preložili do angličtiny ako:
❌ „In bedroom is bed.“
→ veta je nesprávna.

V angličtine musíme použiť buď väzbu there is / there are, alebo začať vetu podmetom.

Správne možnosti:

(V spálni je posteľ.)

✅ A bed is in the bedroom.
(Posteľ je v spálni.) – menej bežné, ale gramaticky správne
